The world has changed so much in such a short time. Multiple stages of web design, from Web1.0 to Web2.0, and most recently the token economy of Web3.0 are changing the future of online skills and access to the internet.
The Metaverse, which I’ll liken to the Universe, is a place where people can live, work, shop, and do a lot of things virtually through an avatar, and you don’t need to physically travel to do that. You’ll be able to gain access to thousands of virtual worlds from your bedroom.
Today, we will look at 5 different Metaverse lands that you may want to invest in. This is not financial advice and it is based on my personal research. You should conduct your own research before spending your money.
TOP METAVERSE LANDS
Sandbox
One of the most popular metaverses is called Sandbox. It is a 3D gaming platform that has also been developed on the Ethereum blockchain and where users can create their own gaming characters and buy virtual land. Sandpapr is a subsidiary company of Animoca Brands which has made a lot of improvements over the past year, including adding new gameplay features like augmented reality.
You can host events in Sandbox’s Metaverse and invite your friends by becoming a Land Owner. The native currency of the Sandbox Metaverse is called SAND, which can be used to trade on the marketplace and buy plots of land.
Users that hold this token get to participate in the governance of this metaverse. They can vote on decisions about the platform by using their votes.
Snoop Dogg is one of many celebrities that have endorsed Sandbox. He built a mansion with his land, and also organizes concerts and events on the platform. The possibilities are endless for what you can do with your land!
Decentraland
Decentraland is a decentralized game that operates as a DAO. The token holders manage the game and every other aspect of the marketplace. It also ranks up there as one of the early metaverse platforms/ marketplaces.
You can buy or sell land in Decentraland by visiting the marketplace. You will see blue land plots — these are for sale. When you hover over them, you’ll see their price, who’s selling it and its size.
Land can be purchased in Decentraland with MANA, which is the native currency in Decentraland. MANA is currently tradable on several exchanges including decentralized and centralized exchanges.
The most affordable land, or plots of land on Decentraland, will cost you about 3.46 ETH, which is around $11,000.
Somnium space
This is an open and social virtual world where you can explore, play games, buy land or buildings, or trade with other players.
Somnium cubes, more commonly referred to as ‘CUBES’ are the game currency which can be used to buy land. Alternatively, you can also use Ethereum to purchase game land. The game is built on the Ethereum blockchain and requires no smart contract programming from developers. You are able to create, import or buy NFTs in-game.
You can buy land parcels in Somnium space from Opensea. The size of the parcel determines how much it’s worth, but being close to certain landmarks also makes the land more attractive.
You can buy a plot of land here for as low as 1.29 ETH, 1.3 ETH, and even 1.4 ETH which is approximately $2000, you need to connect your Metamask wallet to be able to finalize the purchase

Star Atlas
Star Atlas is a play-to-earn metaverse game set in the year 2620 (just like my book 68 Days). Because of the concept of the game, which involves traveling within planets, spaceships are the major NFT asset.
This metaverse is built on the Solana Blockchain, and it has 2 tokens. The first is the ATLAS token, which is its in-game currency that can be used to trade in the marketplace. The second is the POLIS token which is the governance token. which can be used to vote on proposals that are submitted and voted upon.Polis is like a digital constitution
On Star Atlas, the lad is also represented by space stations and spaceships.
